Pontypool Boxing Gym

We train boxers to compete at local and national level. Kids (Juniors) Schoolboys (Older children) Seniors and Novices all have a chance to learn and compete.

Boxing Training

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • 6pm - 7.30pm
  • £1 per subs per session

  • Controlled & supervised technical sparring (when coaches think you are ready)
  • Bagwork, Padwork, Conditioning & more
Boxing for beginners (Novice)
  • Learn the basics
  • Gradual progression bag work and drills
  • Develop conditioning
  • Agility and footwork drills
  • Pad work - combining technical work and conditioning
  • Coach assessed controlled sparring when ready
Responsible Sparring
  • boxers will be invited to spar when coaches feel they are ready
  • we believe in controlled technical sparring
  • sparring partners are picked to achieve the best learning and development outcome
  • sparring is always controlled and supervised by coaches
Womens Fitness
  • Circuit based conditioning (similar to HIT -High Intensity Training).
  • Ground work concentrating on core abdominal strength
  • Bag drills for endurance instensity and technique
  • Agility and cardio footwork drills
  • Pad work - combining technical work and conditioning
